Lucca, 4th November-Making major events safer and more enjoyable for the audience preventing a pleasurable moment turning into a traumatic experience or, sometimes, into a real nightmare like the European Cup final in Brussels in 1985.

These are the topics on the agenda of the international meeting organized by the Laboratory of UNICRI Security Governance and anti-terrorism from 4th to 6th November.

Born in 2008, the EU SEC II project, coordinated by UNICRI, aims to facilitate better cooperation at European and regional level to create a synergy that can further raise the higher standards of safety and security at Major events.

As sporting events are of great social importance for the media, football in particular, a theme always sensitive to public policy. For this reason the first application and a brilliant first result of the project, occurred at most important football event of the year: the final of the Champions League which was held in Rome last May.

At the conclusion of the meeting on 6th November at the headquarters of the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca, Piazza San Martino 4, Lucca, at 10.30am, Francesco Cappe’, manager of the Laboratory of UNICRI and Raffaele Aiello will present the documentary made by United Nations Television at the Champions League final at Rome.
