The Security Governance Counter Terrorism Laboratory through its "Public Private Security Policies and Major Events Security" Initiative in Lisbon, is participating in the organization of Training Course on:
Prevención, Planificación e Intervención en eventos de Grandes Concentraciones Humanas in Montevideo, Uruguay next 30 November to 4 December 2009. The Training Course was developed by the Ministry of Interior and the Civil Protection of Spain thanks to the support of AECID, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation.

The Lab will contribute to the Course through IPO Americas, the Programme developed in cooperation with the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (CICTE) of the Organization of American States, as part of a project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain.

The main objective of the course is to share best practice and lessons learnt in the field of major event security in order to improve risk management in the security preparation of future major events. The event will be attended by around 50 Police Officers from Latin Americas, including some of the IPO Americas National Focal Points.
