
UNICRI is organizing the First Meeting on the “Use of Technology to protect Major Events and Vulnerable Targets”, within the framework of the Public Private Security Policies & Major Events Security Initiative and its IPO TECH project. The meeting is hosted by the Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna, the Police Academy of Portugal.
IPO TECH is an independent United Nations platform launched by the Laboratory during the First International Symposium on ‘Security Measures and Technical Solutions for Major Events and Expanding Cities’ held in Abu Dhabi, from 18 to 20 May 2009 and organized with the UAE Ministry of the Interior. IPO TECH is supported by an open-ended group of major private companies with the aim to collect, analyze and disseminate information and experience, and also promote the sustainable use of technology and long lasting investment. The meeting is organised in two days. The 14th of December a group of top technology providers will discuss with the Lab Staff the functioning of the IPO TECH platform. The 15th of December they will present their activities and latest products to the Lisbon Initiative partners in one to one meeting session.
