The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) will participate in the Fourth International Public-Private Preparedness Summit on June 14-17 at New York University.
The Summit puts together 75 senior leaders from major governments, key international agencies and leading multi-national corporations to collaboratively address common risks and uncertainties. The Forum will address risk management, security and crisis management, emergency management, preparedness and resilience in the private sector as well as homeland security, civil defense, police, intelligence, emergency management, civil contingencies and the military in the public sector.
The objectives of the forum are to share insights and lessons learned from recent events; develop critical personal relationships in advance of crisis; examine key existing and developing threats and challenges, and jointly identify key initiatives for collaborative and concrete action.
Another main goal of the Summit is to lay the foundation for a new international Consortium, a joint endeavor to collaboratively address and fund the development of concrete solutions to key challenges identified by participating corporations and other organizations.
UNICRI will be part of a panel on “Identifying What Works & Doesn’t Work in Public-Private Collaboration: Structures and Strategies for Partnering on Information, Resources and Joint Action”.
