On 5-6 September 2018, UNICRI, in cooperation with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), held the 2nd INB Network Partners Meeting at the Palais des Nations, in Geneva. Within the framework of the 28th Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect in partnership with the United Nations Interregional Crime and Research Institute (UNICRI), is organising a side event on hate speech and violent extremism.
The side event, entitled “Hate Speech and Violent Extremism as Driving Factors Leading to Violence and Atrocity Crimes” will take place on 23 May at the Vienna International Centre (Conference Room M7) from 2.20 to 3.10 p.m.

The exhibit organized by UNICRI, with the support of the Permanent Mission of Italy to the UN, is centred around Goal 16 of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development on promoting peaceful, just and inclusive societies, free from crime and violence.
A technical report prepared by UNICRI on “Strengthening the Security and Integrity of the Precious Metals Supply Chain” has been presented and discussed on the occasion of the side-event held on 25 May at the 25th Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ).
More than 50 persons participated in the Side-event, including representatives from Member States as well as international organisations.
