The Policy Toolkit developed by UNICRI was launched by the Netherlands at the Fifteenth Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) Coordinating Committee in Malaga on 13-14 March 2019.

The Toolkit was recently presented during the Joint special meeting on the nexus between international terrorism and organized crime held on 26 April 2019 by the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC), the ISIL (Da’esh)/Al-Qaida Committee, and the Taliban Committee.

On 29 November 2016, at the Palais des Nations, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) will organize an event on “Using Big Data Analytics to Reinforce Security: Benefits, Challenges and the Future Scenarios”.

UNICRI has a long standing record in research, training and technical assistance projects aimed at promoting social justice in the attainment of human development.

During the past four years, UNICRI, at the request of several partners, has strengthened its work in identifying and addressing priority societal challenges posed to sustainable human development and to protection of fundamental rights, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations (prison population, drug users, women, victims of cultural/religious issues).
