Participants of the twentieth session of the Conference of States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) were briefed in the margins of the Conference on the past, present and likely future developments in robotics and the technological trend toward increasingly autonomous or artificially intelligent systems. The meeting is taking place at UNICRI HQs from 16 to 18 November 2015 and sees the participation of experts and law enforcement representatives from several countries.

The course, which will be held at the United Nations Campus in Turin on 21-22 January 2015, is tailored to journalists and chief information officers, as well as those who want to specialize in this area.
The President of the National Italian Municipalities (ANCI) and Mayor of Turin, Mr. Piero Fassino, and the Director of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), Ms. Cindy J. Smith, met at the City Hall of Turin for the signing of the agreement between ANCI and UNICRI.
The agreement aims to lay the foundation for the cooperation between the two organizations in order to promote urban security, in particular by preventing crime, reducing vulnerabilities and promoting development and human rights.
