On 22 February 2023, experts from a wide range of Ukrainian State agencies and ministries attended an online training entitled “Stop the virus of disinformation”. The training aimed to provide participants with techniques on how to detect and respond to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) disinformation, as well as communicate with the media following a CBRN event.
Chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) disinformation is defined as intentionally misleading and deceptive information about CBRN threats that can potentially cause serious political, financial, and physical harm to governments, international organizations, the scientific community, academia, industry, and the population at large.
Delegates from the Republic of Kenya and UNICRI met in Geneva on 30 November 2022 on the side lines of the Ninth Review Conference of the Biological Weapons Convention to discuss new areas of cooperation in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) risk mitigation.
The meeting was chaired by the Director General of Kenya’s National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Walter Oyawa and discussed two new areas of cooperation.
