Within the framework of the European Union’s (EU) Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Centres of Excellence (CoE) Initiative (EU CBRN CoE), 64 partner countries cooperate to mitigate the CBRN risks of criminal, accidental or natural origin. The EU CBRN CoE global initiative represents the EU’s largest civilian external security programme, which is funded and implemented by the European Union as part of its goal to promote peace, stability and conflict prevention.
On June 6-7th, under the AI for Safer Children initiative, the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), through its Centre for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), conducted a regional training in Singapore. On 24–25 May 2023, 25 officers from a range of Moldovan law enforcement agencies successfully completed a two-day in-person training entitled “Stop the virus of disinformation”. The training aimed to provide participants with techniques on how to detect and respond to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) disinformation, as well as communicate with the media following a CBRN event.
